#ProofOfReception

A better internet, built on our human intelligence (hi)

Proving human reception of true value.

TCP enabled reliable transmission. Blockchain enabled distributed ledger consensus. PoR enables decentralized validation of intended reception.

Protocol

Should it be received?

TCP asked whether data arrived. A ledger asks whether a network accepted and ordered a transaction. Proof of Reception asks the question both left open: should this recipient accept this data, value, instruction, or action, from this counterparty, under these conditions?

Validate before you receive. Authorize before you act.

  1. 01

    Propose

A person, application, device, or agent describes a PoRtion. The proposal has no authority of its own.

  2. 02

    Exchange PoRtraits

Each side discloses only the conditions that matter. Over 18, not a date of birth. Authorized, not an employment file.

  3. 03

    Validate at the PoR CoRe

The affected PoRts evaluate identity, rights, purpose, time, device, and risk against the proposal in front of them.

  4. 04

    Grant or Deny

PoRmission is binary at the gate. GRANT is scoped to this PoRtion, these parties, this rail, this window.

  5. 05

    Execute or Receive

The authorized action goes to the chosen rail: a bank, a card, a chain, an API, a door, or no payment at all.

  6. 06

    rePoRt

Both sides keep evidence of what was proposed, validated, authorized, and received. Sensitive source data stays at the edge.

The paper

Deployed technology, expanding protocol.

The WEB3NITI Foundation paper is the public edition of the architecture. Confidential implementations are omitted. What follows is the digest.

I

The missing primitive

The internet was designed to move information reliably. Blockchain was designed to keep shared state without a single ledger operator. Artificial intelligence now proposes action at machine speed. Reception, whether the recipient should accept, was never specified as its own layer.

II

Already operating

U.S. Patent 12,293,369 is granted. The lifecycle runs in a live validated-access deployment. Independently operating PoRts have exchanged and validated across a network. A financial collaboration is applying more than one hundred PoRtrait data points before a transaction reaches the existing rail.

III

Intended consensus

No system agrees on every fact. PoR asks a narrower question first: did the people whose rights, intent, and risk are affected agree that this reception was authorized? Blockchain decentralized the ledger. PoR decentralizes the validation that decides what may enter a ledger, or any other system, at all.

IV

A complementary layer

PoR does not replace TCP, a bank, or a chain. It sits at the boundary. The rail performs the authorized action. PoR determines whether that action has permission to proceed. There is no inherent miner, staker, or gas fee for the validation event.

V

AI, rights, rails

A model may write a contract or move value. It should act only when the relevant PoRtraits satisfy policy. The same gate can sit in front of any system that receives information, transfers value, grants access, exercises a right, or executes an action—with or without payment.

VI

Founding PoRts

PoRts are licensed access points, not digital land. WEB3NITI’s work is research, education, public-interest access, and stewardship: Free. Empower. Protect. the data, time, and skills of people. Qualified organizations may reserve a Founding PoRt.

Humanity

Successful humanitarian use cases of PoR

PoR brings donors and recipients into a bilateral system of trust through dual PoRtraits. The needs, identity, location, and conditions of refugees, single mothers, and other underserved people can be pre-validated through recipient PoRtraits, while donors, resources, intent, and conditions are pre-validated through donor PoRtraits—helping reduce fraud, misallocation, delays, and uncertainty while proving that value reached its intended recipient. In an increasingly artificial world, humanity is the ultimate value: AI generates output. Human Intelligence (HI) creates meaning.

Lexicon

PoRt
A validating endpoint. A person, organization, device, application, or agent.
PoRtrait
A portable condition: identity, right, role, authority, eligibility, preference, context.
PoRtion
The proposed unit. Data, value, content, instruction, credential, right, or action.
PoRmission
GRANT or DENY, bound to a defined PoRtion and context.
rePoRt
The bilateral record of one interaction and its outcome.
A PoRt’s local ledger, and the broader view when compatible ledgers are reconciled.

AI proposes. PoR validates. Inference is not authorization.
